Summary: When a summer rain keeps a granddaughter inside, she decides she wants to explore Grandma's treasure chest. Convinced that it is full of pirate's treasure, she quickly learns, that Grandma does, indeed, keep her gems in the box. This is an illustrated poem celebrating a relationship and memories.

Little Kid Reaction: Our daughter was enchanted by the illustrations … seeking out that pirate's treasure. When we were through, she asked about HER grandmother's treasure chest!
Big Kid Reaction: This is a wonderful book … probably the best yet! The idea of "memories" were a little beyond our daughter, but she didn't miss the point that Grandma's have special things to share.
Pros: The illustrations are incredible and the poetry is stunning. You will lose yourself in your own family memories. The author provides a cheat-sheet for creating your own treasure chest.
Cons: Absolutely none.
Borrow or Buy: Buy! You will want a copy for you and a copy for the grandmothers in your family, too. It is THAT good.
Educational Themes: You can both celebrate and create memories. The book also helps convey the message that the most precious things are not always "things" at all.
