Summary: Mom and Dad want have declared their child's bedroom a disaster area. One by one, they point to the items that can be found (but don't belong) in the corner, under the bed, even on the fan. When they are done, the child begins to explain the method to this mess, and why things are just the way they need to be. Will they understand his explanation? This rhyming book is a humorous look at the age-old problem of a kid's messy room.

Age of Child: Started reading with 5-year-old child.
Little Kid Reaction: Our child loves this book. S/He listens attentively to the story, and loves to laugh at the explanations and the illustrations.
Big Kid Reaction: We have to agree with our child. The bugs and the explanations are pretty funny. We would like to think that the story might be an incentive for our child to explore and at least semi-organize their room, but we fully expect that we will get lots of interesting reasons and not cleaning.
Pros: The books takes an age-old problem and gives it a fun, unexpected twist. Even the cover linings have fun reading.
Cons: None, unless you want a book that guarantees your child will clean their room.
Borrow or Buy: Buy! You will want this story at the end of a long day (or a bad day) when you just want something everyone can laugh about together.
Educational Themes: This is just a fun rhyming story about the condition of one's room. A clever child will be inspired to create all notions of reasons for the 'mess' in their room.
