Summary: Angel 2nd Class Bartholomew Pennington sent an Email from Heaven that mistakenly arrived in the In-box of 10-year-old Jordon Mink. Bartholomew's effort to correct the error failed when Jordon saw through his ploy. Ultimately it allowed the two to become pen-pals for the summer. This is a middle-reader story that is a journal of Emails.

Little Kid Reaction: Whether you like e-mail or not, you will like this book. This is a good book filled with heart-warming e-mails about the boy who gets an e-mail from heaven. I suggest you go get it and start to read!
Big Kid Reaction: This is an outstanding book. The story is well-written and well rounded, without being wholly predictable. The E-mail format makes for fast reading; and the depth of the characters offer a fine mechanism for layering the various "morals of the story."
Pros: The book will appeal to teens and parents, with characters both can appreciate. It moves fast and "speaks" in a language tweeners will appreciate. The tone is typically brash for the target audience without becoming caustic or demeaning.

Borrow or Buy: Buy! This is a book that pre-teens will likely return to when they need a boost to deal with the anxieties in their own lives.
Educational Themes: The religious themes are clear but not in a bang-your-kid over the head style, nor are they representative of a specific denomination, as they focus on the elements of all religions: compassion, faith, and hope.
