Summary: A quiet afternoon for one cat becomes a party for 20 when his friends follow him home. The house dog sits quietly by and watches the mess the cats make. Unrolling the yarn and messing up the kids room are just a couple of the things they get into. The story ends with all of them playing in the backyard while the dog watches from inside the now messy house! This is a photo-quality picture book for young children helps them learn to count to 20.

Little Kid Reaction: I picked this book for my son. He liked all the different kinds of cats the illustrator shows, and I enjoyed the opportunity to help him learn to count to 20.
Big Kid Reaction: This book is easy to read and held his attention. There are beautiful illustrations of the cats! I was surprised he would like it as it was really just a counting book but the author and illustrator make it a fun read and it doesn’t even seem like a counting book
Pros: This is a fun counting book with beautiful illustrations. Kids will giggle and yell "uh, oh" at some of the cats' antics.
Cons: None.
Borrow or Buy: Buy. I would buy this for any child. They'll enjoy looking at the pictures just as much as reading it.
Educational Themes: In addition to being a counting book, this is an opportunity to teach kids about how cats play and talk about what they do when there are messes or friends come over and make a mess. Ask them what they think will happen to the dog to create a new story all your own.
