Summary: This is the story of Mozart’s life. It presents everything in pictures and a story that is broken down into stages. You learn how he started playing and creating music; his home life, including his mother’s death; and his marriage. The last two pages list each event in his life by dates of the occurrences so you can better understand the timetable of his short and eventful life. This is an illustrated biography for young children.

Little Kid Reaction: We have listened to Mozart's music, so I picked this book to learn more about him. My daughter enjoyed the book, but I had to read it over two days as it was a lot of information to take in. She asked questions about the different kinds of music he wrote and wanted to see on a map where his life took place.
Big Kid Reaction: I loved this book! It has great information, and is easy to understand because of good writing and beautiful pictures. I wasn’t sure she would like it but was very happy when she did
Pros: This well written and illustrated book is educational, but also e enjoyable just as a story.
Cons: You'll need to judge whether or not you can read this in one sitting. There is a lot of information, and because this is a different time in history, you may spend more time explaining what life was like "back then."
Borrow or Buy: Borrow, at least. This is an excellent book ... a must have for every library.
Educational Themes: This is all about Mozart. There are opportunities to talk about history, the role/responsibilities of children, and following your passion. The story makes it easy to talk about working hard being true to yourself (i.e., not everyone will be supportive or like what you do). This is an excellent introduction to biographies and life stories.
