Summary: On each page, you'll see five animals. There is something different about each animal and you are asked to find those differences using the clues they give you on the facing page. Animals include penguins, elephants, frogs, and donkeys. This is a seek-and-find book for identifying differences.

Little Kid Reaction: My daughter picked this out. She saw the title and wanted to know what animals weren’t blue. She liked finding the different animals, and would only let me read one line at a time until she had found the animal the line was describing. She said this is a fun book. She thought the drawings of the animals were cute
Big Kid Reaction: I enjoyed the pictures in this book, as well as the different animals and the unique things about them. It was fun to read this book with my daughter. I was surprised that she didn’t make me read real fast to get the book over with. She really wanted to enjoy each page of animals.
Pros: This is a book made for sharing together. It's fun to look at the great pictures and also to find the differences.
Cons: At first I didn’t understand what the book was about. Once you realize it is only about spotting differences (i.e., not a story), it is easier to enjoy.
Borrow or Buy: Borrow. We enjoyed the book, but after a couple of readings, the clues lose they're appeal. This would be an excellent choice for a school or public library.
Educational Themes: The main emphasis of the book is to help kids use clues to find things and to develop their thinking skills. It also encourages them to make connections between words and pictures. Go beyond the book to talk about how differences can be positive ... and talk about things that are alike, too.
