Little Kid Reaction: My son liked the colorful pictures and the different activities the animals in the book were involved in. This would be a long book for him (10 pages), but he was happy to stay in my lap until we were done.
Big Kid Reaction: This is a cute story about how much a Mom takes care of her children and is there to nurture them. I was surprised that he liked the story and stayed sitting on my lap from beginning to end. The pictures kept his attention while I read the simple text.
Pros: This short, meaningful story will appeal to parents and young children alike. It is a perfect lap book.

Borrow or Buy: Borrow, at least. This is a nice story and one of many on the subject that you'll probably read with your toddler and preschooler.
