Summary: A baby sea turtle takes the wrong turn and ends up in the woods instead of on the beach. Along the way, he meets other animals who invite him to stay; a bear and a frog each say turtle can live with them. In the end he finds himself right were he is supposed to be. This rhyming picture book story offers nature, science, and a lesson about being lost.

Pros: Rhyming words make fast reading of this book that offers lots of facts about nature wrapped in a story.

Educational Themes: There is a lot to share with this story. First, you have the character themes of friendship and helping others. You have plenty to contrast and compare on the different living habitats of the animals, too. Like all Sylvan Dell books, there are activities on the last page that can expand the learning.
