Little Kid Reaction: A friend read this to his class and they found it interesting plus it sparked a dialogue about various non-traditional jobs.
Big Kid Reaction: I liked the idea of having kids consider jobs like kite designer, robotics engineer, chocolatier, and cheese maker.
Pros: Everyone can enjoy this book that has good information about career choices. The color photos used to illustrated each occupation are excellent.
Cons: None. I would have liked to seen twice as many careers discussed.
Borrow or Buy: Borrow or buy. At home, this is a book you can share together a couple of times. If you are a teacher, you will want to buy a copy because you'll be using it every year!
Educational Themes: Reading the book you'll learn a lot. Talking about the book offers some great dialogue ... you may even expand your knowledge of your kid's interests. Togethery, you can investigate various careers, as well as see how some things are made like cheese, a guitar, and a set for a play.
