Little Kid Reaction: I picked this book because the cover looked interesting and was colorful. The first chapter was very boring, but I kept on reading and it got really good. I liked the book and it was very easy to read, as well as fun. The pictures are great. They explain what's going on and you can understand them. I would not read it again because it was way under my reading level.
Big Kid Reaction: First and foremost, this is an educational and enjoyable adventure story about getting through adolescence. It is also the primary resource of the Glowmundo Series, which aims to empower children to think beyond their circumstances
Pros: Discovery Of Glow will engage the reader immediately. It is replete with bizarre and zany characters, nutty professors, captivating adventures, and lots of dilemmas to resolve. Student reviewer: I twas a very good book, but easy to read. I liked the pictures and the ending was very good.
Cons: None. Student reviewer: It took awhile for me to start to like this book. It was under my reading level and it was hard to understand at parts.
Borrow or Buy: Buy. Parents and teachers who are looking for a resource to help kids deal with the issues that come with being an adolescent, this is a tool that's also an enjoyable read. Student reviewer: I would recommend borrowing this book because it is a book you can rad for fun.
Educational Themes: Adolescence is a challenging and difficult period in every child’s life. The authors realize how harrowing the challenges appear to fifth graders but also to their teachers and parents. This book is a useful, wonderful and enjoyable resource that helps students and adults deal with the physical and emotional changes associated with the onset of puberty.
