Summary: Tonight's the B-I-G night. Sheep, Cow, Goat, Chicken, and Pig, aka the band Punk Farm, has their big rock concert for all of the other animals. In the middle of their last practice, Cow hears footsteps in the farmhouse. Oh, no! Farmer Joe is supposed to be asleep. Will the rest of the barnyard get to hear that screaming guitar? This is an amped up version of Old MacDonald's Farm.

Little Kid Reaction: Our daughter first read this book at school ... and was reciting it for nights. Then she had the chance to borrow it from the library and she is in Hog heaven! She laughs, she plays air guitar, she loves it.
Big Kid Reaction: This is fun to read. Yes, it is Old MacDonald Had a Farm all over again, but the story is cute and you can have LOTS of fun with it. We don't recommend it for bedtime, though!
Pros: This picture book adds a twist and lots of fun to a very popular children's song.
Cons: If you like to sit and read quietly, this isn't your book. What makes it great is how much fun you can have rocking out with your kids!
Borrow or Buy: If you borrow, be prepared to renew it. This is one of those books that your kids will want for a long time. We think it's a buy because it will help with reading a little later down the line!
Educational Themes: This book is made for making reading fun. Use it as the inspiration for your own homegrown band, put on some Pete Seeger (or Bruce or whomever), and have a blast.
