Publisher: LifeVest Publishing, ©2003

Material: hard cover

Summary: Baby Will is a happy baby. Every day, Will's brothers and sisters doted on him and took turns helping Mommy and Daddy. Sally, the oldest, taught her brothers and sisters how to blow flying kisses, because they made Will smile. Then, one morning, Daddy couldn't get Will to wake up. It was a very sad day, and the children had lots of questions about what was happening. As the family worked through their sadness, they found a way that they can still share their love with baby Will in Heaven. This picture book is a children's story for families coping with Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

Type of Reading: family reading, anytime reading, read aloud book

Recommended Age: read together: 4 to 10; read yourself: 7 to 10

Interest Level: 5 to 9

Age of Child: Review pending. This is a book for children who have lost a sibling to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). The Reading Tub, Inc. will work to place it with the right family at the right time.

Big Kid Reaction: This is a very tender story that introduces loss, grief, and sadness to children who have no sense of these emotions. The author does an outstanding job offering explanations that answer the children's questions, but without overplaying their ability to understand.

Pros: This book is good for anyone who is directly dealing with the loss of a child to SIDS, or for friends/family who need to find a way to explain this to their kids, too.

Cons: None.

Borrow or Buy: Borrow, at least. If you are around families with young children, even if you don't know of a SIDS loss, this is a must-read. It will prepare you for answering questions about death and loss in other contexts, too. This would be a thoughtful, sensitive gift for a family suffering with the loss of a child.

From the author: These books were written for children and families who have lost a young loved one to Sudden Infant Death Syndrom (SIDS). These wonderfully written books are dealing with a very difficult subject and are not intended to be an average children's book for just any child.
