Susan Daniel Fayad

The mantra for authors is "write what you know." In My Grandfather's Masbaha Susan draws on and weaves family and cultural experiences into a universal story. Her teaching experience led her to delve into educational programs on an international level, working with NGOs and U.N. affiliated organizations.

Susan Daniel Fayad is a Lebanese American born and raised in the United States. She completed her undergraduate studies in Psychology and Special Education at the American University of Beirut, Lebanon. After graduating, she taught primary grades at an international charter school. She is a voice for girls' education, and she has worked with NGOs and UN-affiliated organizations to raise awareness of this issue globally.

Susan lives in Richmond, Virginia with her husband and two children. She works as a college adviser. As her book shows us, family is very important to Suan, and summer vacations often include a trip to Lebanon to reconnect with family and friends.
