By day, Liz is the Youth Services Consultant for the New Jersey State Library Talking Book and Braille Center, a regional library for the National Library Services for the Blind & Physically Handicapped. She advocates for readers, particularly teens, and has been very active in the American Library Association. she is involved with the Outreach to Young Adults With Special Needs (YALSA, 2009-2010); the Schneider Family Book Award Committee (2009-2010); ALA CBC Joint Committee (2008-2010); Printz Committee (YALSA, 2007-2009); Website Advisory Committee (YALSA), 2006-08; and YALSA's Legislation Committee (2005-2007). She is a regular contributor to School Library Journal publications.

In her spare time, she blogs about books and reading (TV, movies, and the occasional adult book) at A Chair, A Fireplace and a Tea Cozy and Pop Goes the Library. She is working tirelessly to connect readers - especially kids - with books.

Liz is also the co-author, with Sophie Brookover, of Pop Goes the Library (Information Today, Inc., 2008). The book was an extension their blog by the same name; and since then, Liz has given presentations about library, pop culture, and Web 2.0.

Liz lives in Spring Lake, New Jersey.
