MEET NANCY WEST

Author Nancy West writes stories with the elements kids love: dogs, heroes, and friendship. She is the author of the children’s historical novel Chips the War Dog [recently re-published as Chips the Hometown Hero, and the illustrated children's book Kali Leads the Way. Nancy is co-author of Bear: Heart of a Hero, a novel about a volunteer responder and his pet dog on the scene right after the events of 9/11. [Written with Scott Shields.]

In 2006, Nancy created Off Lead Publications, a publishing house that specializes in stories about dogs. More specifically, Off Lead Publications features books that celebrate the magical bond that exists between animals and their human companions and the heroic 'deeds of goodness' accomplished through these special partnerships.

"We support not-for-profit organizations dedicated to a sustainable quality of life for all creatures--great or small."

Nancy lives in the New York area. She frequently travels throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast United States promoting and signing her books.
