Meet Reg Down

Reg Down grew up in Canada, Namibia, South Africa and Ireland. After studying architecture in London, England, he trained as a eurythmist (an art of movement and gesture) in Southern England and Germany.

He has taught in Waldorf Schools in Australia, Canada, and the United States for many years. The Tales of Tiptoes Lightly came about as a result of his work with kindergarten and younger grades' children where Tiptoes and her companions became a favorite of both the students and teachers.

In addition to teaching and performing eurythmy he is a colored shadow puppeteer. He is the author of Leaving Room for the Angels (AWSNA Press), a book on eurythmy and artistic pedagogy. Currently writing a book on color and gesture. The next book in the series, The Festival of Stones: Autumn and Winter Tales of Tiptoes Lightly has just been released.

Reg is the father of three and lives in Sacramento, California. He is on sabbatical from the Camellia Waldorf School and is teaching at Rudolf Steiner College.
