Meet John Luksetich

John's interest in helping children reach their potential has manifested itself in many ways. He has been an elementary and junior high school teacher for more than fourteen years. He is a Reading/ Language Arts Mentor teacher, and for the last ten years has taught in bilingual / multilingual classrooms for the past 10 years.

As an author, John draws on science, history, and life in general to help children see value in the world around them, as well as their selves. He published his own series of interactive children’s books entitled Illus-Myself where children could illustrate four of his stories over and over again as reviewed by the San Diego Book Publicists. John published five branching stories and comprehension questions on "Read & Write" a computer software program produced by Stone & Associates. His story, Touched by the Sun was published in Jack & Jill magazine published by the Better Health Institute.

John's creativity is not limited to teaching or words on a page. He wrote the the rap song, "Just Say No" produced by Sam McWhorter of Studio 54 and performed by his 6th Grade class at the Rose Bowl before First Lady Nancy Reagan and 25,000 screaming DARE students. TV news broadcasts and the Los Angeles Times favorably reviewed their effort, and the city of Rosemead gave him an award. John also co-wrote the movie script Ugly Shoes, represented by Jerome Siegal & Associates. He also continues to produce and host the cable access television program entitled, "Imagine" with over 400 programs under his belt over a ten year span ranging the spectrum of alternative information in the areas of Health, Science, Education, Environment, and Spirituality, among other topics.

John lives in Long Beach with his four children, wife, and four cats. He enjoys hiking, running, spending time with his wife and children, and being an activist in the community for a variety of causes toward the betterment of society. He is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers.
