Summary: Peter Kuiksak always dreamed of playing in the NHL. Now, as he was trying out for a Bantam league team in Edmonton, the reality of having to leave home (The Northwest Territories) was catching up to him. When he makes the team and moves in with a family, he learns that life is a series of choices and changes. This is a young-adult chapter book about being true to yourself and helping others understand that.

Adult Reader Reaction: This third book in the author's collection is the best yet. It was hard to put this one down. Peter, whom she introduced in the last book, now takes center stage. He is a compelling character.
Pros: The story moves quickly, and will engage the reader (particularly boys!) because of the "that's my life" qualities of the events.
Borrow or Buy: Buy. This is a must-read for parents with boys 'dreaming' of being a pro someday.
