Interest Level: 3 to 8
Age of Child: Started reading with child at 2½ years old.
Young Reader Reaction: After two readings, this book was part of the daily must-haves at nap time, and often in the evening.
Adult Reader Reaction: The story moves fast and is packed with lots of tidbits about the animals' behaviors. It's attractiveness is likely due in part to Zaboomafu, which is wildly popular in our house!
Pros: The rhyming scheme makes it fun to read aloud and easy for little ears to digest. The illustrations complement the story nicely (except for the Jaguar jail).
Borrow or Buy: Buy! If you have an animal lover in your house, you'll want this story in the collection. It's nice to have a great story with learning value, too.
