Age of Child: Teen STAR Review Team, Be the Star You Are!™

Young Reader Reaction: This book was such a breath of fresh air! I loved how original this story is. It is a romance story, but also a survival story. I really enjoyed how the romance developed. Lilac and Tarver didn’t just fall in love right away; their relationship grew from the first page to the last. It is more realistic than what a lot of young adult books will describe about romance. I also really enjoyed the plot twist at the end! I have to say, I was not expecting it!

Even though These Broken Stars is in the science fiction (SciFi) genre, it isn’t too focused on it. The setting may be on an alien planet, but the characters and the world are very relatable/believable. There wasn’t much I didn’t like about this book! It’s definitely one to pick up.

Adult Reader Reaction: Review pending.

Pros: Original and refreshing! Teens and adults will enjoy this science fiction / romance / survival series.

Cons: Teen note: There is a mild (non-descriptive) sexual scene, and mild SciFi violence.

Borrow or Buy: Buy. It is an original story that you'll enjoy reading and want to share. This book would be a great gift to anybody interested in romance and survival stories.

Educational Themes: Although the story itself is fiction, there are several elements that can open discussion and offer readers a more realistic take on how relationships develop.
